What if one riding suit could handle it all?

The Halvarssons Mora & Malung set was built for riders who refuse to let weather decide when they ride.

Preview – Halvarssons Mora & Malung, Scandinavian All-Season Touring Gear

Sweden is known for functional design, subtle aesthetics and products built to last. The Halvarssons Mora jacket and Malung trousers fit perfectly into that tradition. Worn for an entire year across Europe, from cold Norwegian mornings to the heat of Tuscany, this all-season riding suit was never given an easy life.

At first glance, the Scandinavian influence is clear. Colours are sober and neutral, free of loud branding or flashy accents. That makes the suit surprisingly versatile, pairing just as naturally with an adventure bike as with a sport-tourer or even a hyperbike. The discreet Swedish flag stitched onto the jacket is one of the few visual statements, quietly signalling premium quality rather than shouting about it.

The heart of the Halvarssons system lies in its temperature regulation. The removable Outlast lining, originally developed for aerospace applications, uses phase-changing materials to absorb or release heat as conditions change. In practice, this means fewer stops to add or remove layers as the day warms up or altitude changes. In extreme heat, the liner can be removed entirely, leaving behind a lighter, well-ventilated outer shell that keeps air flowing through strategically placed vents.

Protection is taken seriously. CE-certified armour protects shoulders, elbows, knees and hips, reinforced by Halvarssons’ own HI-ART textile, claimed to be up to five times stronger than conventional materials. Despite these reinforcements, the suit remains flexible and comfortable, never feeling stiff or restrictive. An optional back protector covers the full length of the spine, adding peace of mind without compromising mobility.

Weather protection comes from a combination of Dryway membrane and a DWR-treated outer layer. Together, they keep wind and rain at bay while allowing moisture to escape from the inside. In normal riding conditions, the suit performs admirably. Only in truly extreme downpours does water eventually find a way in usually at the transition between jacket and trousers, where most multi-piece suits struggle.

Practicality is another strong point. Numerous pockets keep essentials organised, while adjustable straps, zips and velcro allow the fit to be fine-tuned to your body. Jacket and trousers can even be connected internally to improve heat retention and keep everything securely in place.

After a year of constant use, the suit still feels ready for many more seasons. Its greatest strength is versatility: it adapts to different climates, riding styles and motorcycles without ever feeling out of place. The price reflects its premium positioning, but in return you get something that feels built for the long run rather than the next season. The Halvarssons Mora & Malung doesn’t try to impress with fashion. It earns respect through quiet competence, just like the landscapes it was designed for.
